Speaker: the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Maciej Szpunar
Maciej Szpunar completed post-graduate studies at the Law Department of the College of Europe in Bruges, followed by Ph.D. studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia.
Completed bar traineeship in 2001 with an exam and listing at the Bar Register in Katowice. Obtained a habilitation in Legal Science in 2009 (specialization: EU law and private international law).
From 1996, associate lecturer and professor at the Department of Civil Law and Private International Law of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Associate at a law firm (2001-2004).
Works as a scholar in such institutions as the Centre for European Legal Studies at the University of Cambridge, the Institute for European Legal Studies “Fernand Dehousse” and the European University Institute in Florence.
Author of many publications in the field of European law, civil law, international commercial law and international private law.
Undersecretary of State in the Office of the Committee for European Integration (2008-2009). At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maciej Szpunar is responsible for representing the Polish Government before EU courts and the EFTA Court.

The Polish-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce was established in March 2011 on the basis of an initiative Polish and Cypriot entrepreneurs. It was set up to strengthen the bonds between Poland and Cyprus and to strengthen the bonds between Poland and Cyprus and to assist associate members who are interested in development of beneficial relationships with partners from both countries.
